Common Core and Common Sense: Writing IEPs Aligned to the Common Core

As districts implement the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and prepare for new assessments, special educators face some unique challenges—reconciling the “I” in IEPs with the “all means all” of standards. This workshop will provide special educators and related services providers with:

  1. a review of the legal requirements regarding access to the general education curriculum,
  2. an overview of the structure of the CCSS and the instructional implications for students with disabilities, and
  3. a planning process to guide the development of the IEPs aligned to the CCSS.

Participants will bring an IEP and leave with tools and strategies they can put into practice right away!
