Avoid behaviors: a tip for transitioning

Watch this video [0:53] for an easy way to avoid behaviors whenever your class is coming back from an activity.
Whenever my class is returning from an activity outside of our classroom, I will regroup my students in the hall in order to help them transition.
We stop outside the classroom door, and we talk about transitioning back in, right there.
Then I bring them in and now they are prepared to be back in the classroom.
It takes an extra five minutes, but that extra five minutes can make a world of difference in terms of behaviors I’m going to see in my classroom.
