Writing Better IEPs: Building Capacity in Your District–Training the Trainers
Available as a Summer Institute by Carol Kosnitsky
This 5-day series is designed to provide special education administrators with specific training in how to develop and implement their own district/building level training on writing instructionally relevant IEP goals that are measurable.
Three days in the summer will:
- introduce participants to the IEP training curriculum;
- guide them through the development of a district plan; and
- outline strategies for implementation and monitoring.
Two additional days during the school year will:
- provide follow-up sessions in trainer coaching; and
- provide additional in-district training strategies.
The ideal participant is knowledgeable in IEP writing, has administrative authority to supervise and evaluate IEP writing, is comfortable in a training role, and has district support for implementing such in-district training.
