Helping the Paraprofessional Understand Disabilities: From Diagnosis to Educational Planning
Available as a Workshop and/or Consulting by Carol Kosnitsky
Paraprofessionals oftentimes find themselves in classroom settings working with a very diverse group of students. While special educators spend years studying the educational implications of disabilities, paraprofessionals are often asked to support students with disabilities when they have little understanding of the student’s challenges. This session will provide an overview of the major disability categories covered under federal special education law and the implications they have in educational settings.
Target Audience: paraprofessionals
