I had a high school student who couldn’t read, so he was going to a remedial reading group. The reading teacher would come to his language class, pull him from the class, and take him to the library for his reading instruction. He needed this, but he was pushing it away, refusing. He would cuss and swear, and finally he stopped showing up for class altogether so that he wouldn’t have to go to this reading group.
