Dress code violations are refusal

Polly Bath: All dress code is is refusal. It’s refusal to follow a direction, and we should treat it as such. You come in, you have a shirt on that says, “Go here, take your mother with you, and here’s what route to take,” just something totally outrageous. It’s offensive, if you will.
You don’t change it, you don’t go, you don’t get another change of clothes, that’s called refusal, therefore, you’re sitting in my office for the behavior, which is refusal, not dress code. We’ve got to think about defining the action and the problem it creates.
