Access to the General Education Curriculum

As with other phrases that have found their way into our vocabulary, “access to the general education curriculum” rolls off our lips; yet educators have rarely been given the opportunity to develop an operational definition of what it means and how it affects their work.  With the increased emphasis on accountability, it is critical that educators increase both their understanding and capacity to ensure that students with disabilities are provided with challenging and engaging instruction.
